An on-site meeting aimed at fighting against water pollution of Huaihe River basin was held in Bengbu City between October 23 and 24. Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan made important remarks at the conference. Wang Taihua, Secretary of CPC Anhui committee and Governor Wang Jinshan attended the conference. Vice governor Tian Weiqian and principals from the three provinces of Jiangsu, Shandong and Henan signed an undertaking agreement with the State Environmental Protection Administration to prevent further water pollution of Huaihe River basin.
