The Development Plan of Inland River Transportation, the first overall and systematic water carriage strategy of Anhui, has passed appraisal recently. According to the plan, before the year of 2020, Anhui will devote itself to the construction of a water way network composed mainly of Huaihe River, Shayinghe River, Changjiang River as well as some others. Large water carriage projects like the canals of Jianghuai and Wutai have been listed in the plan. (liu heng yi)
