China’s first school for civilians in contemporary times starts this morning, and 38 students from poverty-stricken families will receive public primary school education which was sponsored by renowned Chinese educator Tao Xingzhi. The boarding school will pay for all the accommodation, clothing, food, etc. The textbooks compiled by the school mainly refer to those public education textbooks published during the 1930s to 1940s, and English courses there are taught by foreign teachers.(Liu Hengyi)
